Perl Projects

I have been using Perl since 1991, in the days when Larry Wall used to answer questions on the NNTP Perl newsgroup himself, and was soon using it for anything more than half a dozen lines of Bourne shell. Since then, I have used it for more than thirty major projects, the largest being over 40,000 lines of Perl code.

Although Perl has been rivaled in popularity by PHP, and more recently Ruby, and it has suffered from far to much navel-gazing about the future of Perl 6, it is still my preferred language when I need to do anything remotely complicated. The vast resource of modules available on CPAN helps with so many coding tasks.
