Another early Dupal project was IHAPSNET, an onlne database of Humanitatian Aid Supplies and Suppliers. The project required extensive custom coding, partly as a result of the customer's special commercial requirements but also because of the many shortcomings of the early version of Drupal used.

Drupal 4.6 lacked custom content types (CCK) and Views, but this was precisely the kind of functionality required to implement the presentation the customer wanted. Consequently, I ended up having to write large parts of this content separation, selection and ordering code myself. There were also other special queries required that even CCK and Views cannot provide now, based on complex metadata and taxonomy items.
